  • FORESTERRA Call for projects. Presentations of the funded projects INFORMED and MedWildFireLab
  • Meetings with Forest research institutions (non- FORESTERRA members)
  • Related forest iniciatives programmes (SUMFOREST, WOODWISDOM)

Day 2: 25 November. Forestry research for the future

Morning Session 2. What do we want from our forests?
Stakeholder and researcher presentations, and free contributions (poster session) on the following topics:
  1. Water and forest
  2. Climate change: impact on forest ecosystems. Adaptation
  3. Forest carbon storage
  4. Valuing and preserving the knowledge to prepare the future: biodiversity and its uses
  5. Non-timber forest products, including biomass for energy, as a market force in the Mediterranean Basin
  6. Business model for forestry funds and environmental accountability of private businesses
Afternoon Session 3. Brainstorming session: Key questions for future research on Mediterranean forests
5 presentations of 10 minutes each, followed by a general discussion and conclusions.

Day 3: 26 November morning. Field visit to a significant case study (To be proposed by Local Organisers)
