TOWARDS BUILDING A MULTI-LEVEL TRANSNATIONAL
NETWORK IN MEDITERRANEAN FORESTRY RESEARCH

The workshop aims to foster the clustering of existing national forest research organizations in order to improve future coordination and maximize research impacts in the Mediterranean region (Mediterranean basin and other Mediterranean climate areas).


porqurollesThe purposes of this workshop are:

- Promote the mutual opening of national forest research infrastructures and information (experimental sites, facilities, databases...)

- Reinforce the networking activities among forest research institutions, units and laboratories in the main concerned scientific and technological domains;

- Encourage the development of transnational joint research units


This networking workshop will gather directors of forest research institutions, units and laboratories in the Mediterranean basin and other Mediterranean climate areas, conducting research in any of the strategic research themes of FORESTERRA:

- Understanding global change drivers, indicators and impacts on Mediterranean ecosystems

- Fostering forest system resilience through managing biodiversity

- Multi-purposes forest landscape management

- Integrated watershed management for forest water-related services
